Cuckolds Embezzler Joe Krulis Jailed

In a plea bargain with Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office, one of the two alleged Cuckolds Light Station embezzlers, Joseph Krulis of Southport Island, has been convicted of a Class B Felony for embezzling some $375,000 from the Cuckolds Fog Signal and Light Station Council.Following a Sentencing Hearing before the Honorable Paul A. Fritzsche, in Alfred, Maine, Krulis reported to the Twin Bridges Regional Jail. Under terms of his sentence, Krulis will serve just 60 days in jail at this time. The balance of his five-year Class B Felony sentence was suspended subject to three years supervised probation, completion of 400 hours of community service in the next two years, and payment of full restitution to the Cuckolds Light

The Cuckolds Light recently acquired a significant collection of nautical items that are now for sale in a 50 lot nautical section of the Thomaston Place Auction Galleries' January 28 and 29, 2012 auction. These items include pond yachts, half-hulls, fittings, instruments and lanterns, and more. This collection even includes a searchlight from JFK's PT boat. All items are being sold to directly benefit the Cuckolds Rescue.

The Cuckolds Council Thanks Knickerbocker Woodworking for Custom Doors

Knickerbocker Woodworking, the cabinet shop of Knickerbocker Group, is designing and constructing three mahogany entrance doors for the Cuckolds Fog Signal and Light Station. These doors will cover the principal light station entrances and will replicate the original doors. Knickerbocker Woodworking is generously donating the doors to the Cuckolds Council to assist in the rebuilding and restoration of the Light Station.

Goldie and Daisy, two Savannah Boer goats are now happily settling into their summer cottage on the Western Cuckolds Island. They were hired by the Cuckolds Council to do their summer jobs — welcoming visitors to the island, and cleaning up the island in a carbon emission-free way. They trim the vegetation, and you will be pleased to know — they particularly love to eat poison ivy
